The Grape Escape
For the Common Good | 2019 Installation on Wheels
What’s more fun than a roving canvas? The Grape Escape is the Hilltop’s first art car! Haydocy Automotive donated the car and the clear coat to protect the super-cool paint job that Justin Withrow of Lookout Supply gave it. (Justin also painted our 2019 Peace Train mural.)
The Grape Escape makes appearances at the Westgate Farmers Market, the Hilltop Bean Dinner, Doo Dah Parade, Comfest, Hot Times Festival, and of course, Summer Jam West! And if you ask nicely, we just may be able to make it to your event.
The Grape Escape’s “toppers” represent some of our past public art installations, and were designed and created by former board member Rachel Pace (who also created our first installation, On the Wings of Change). How many installations can you identify?
Check out Columbus Drives Art, where our art car friends and us collaborate on art car parades and other events.
