Details
Selection process: For those who followed our 2022 process, a few adjustments have been made for 2023. Interested artists will apply using the application form above. Based on applications, resume/CV, and prior work samples, three semi-finalists will each be invited to an informal video interview. Following the interviews, one finalist will be selected for a direct commission to execute this project. As part of the commission, the finalist will be given a design stipend to create up to three designs, which will be shared with the Hilltop community for input. One design will ultimately be selected by the Hilltop Arts Collective board.
Eligibility: Open to Columbus or central Ohio artists only. Individual artists, teams, or organizations are welcome to apply.
Project description: Hilltop Arts Collective commissions a major public art installation annually in connection with Summer Jam West, our community arts & music festival. Our 2023 theme for the festival and mural project is “Tell Your Story”. In that spirit, our mission for this mural is to inspire the community to connect with one another and share their stories.

As part of that, there may be an opportunity for the selected finalist to assist with designs to complement the mural (additional compensation would be provided).
